Arrival and Day 1

Thursday at around 18:00 we started driving towards Neuenkirchen-Vorden, the place where our internship is at. At arrival we talked a little with Willem, our 'host', and we got to know him and his a little. After that, Willem showed us the house we are staying at. We went to bed early as we planned to get up early the next day.

We decided to get up early to discover the town a little. After a 15 minute walk we were in the middle of the town. We walked around a little, to see what the town had to show. We went to the Lidl and did some shopping for the day.
At around 15:00 Bram, Willem and I went to the place where the Schützenfest will be held. We had to do some little things. These were nothing special.
In the evening the Schützverein (de schuttersvereniging) had some kind of ceremony where they would raise a flag, followed by a long evening in a pub. Bram and I used this to build up some new social contacts with both the adults and the younger ones that were part of the Schützverein. We had a lot of fun that evening.
